About six weeks ago, one of our chickens laid her first egg. We were all so excited! It didn't happen quite like we expected it would, though. Isabel was outside playing with the chickens, like she always does. One was up on the back steps and Isabel grabbed it from behind. Apparently, she gave the chicken quite a fright because it squawked and out popped an egg. Unfortunately, it landed right on the cement and cracked a bit.
But, Ethan grabbed the egg, ran in the house and told us all what happened. After we finished laughing, the kids wanted to fry the egg up for a snack. Yum!

Our chickens are now producing around 16-22 eggs a day and we have been selling them just as fast. Such a fun little adventure.
