Camera woes

My camera has decided that it won't be a slave to my demands any more. Sigh. It's about to bite the dust. I have had several things happen this week that I wanted to catch on film, but alas, the crazy tool won't cooperate. Looks like we are in the market for a new digital camera. What kind of camera do you have? Are you happy with it? Is it worth the price you paid for it?

Please, inform me.....

Well that stinks! I had had the same camera since Ian was born and it was sooooo slow and big that I rarely took pictures because it was a battery eating beast. My mom must have decided that she wanted pics of the grandkids because she got me a new camera for Christmas. So far, I really like it. I have no idea what she paid for it, but I know that it came from WalMart. It's a Fujifilm Finepix J10. It's really compact and does all I need it to... take pictures! Super bonus, it came with a rechargeable lithium battery and it's own handy charger. My sis has the same camera and she really likes hers as well. Just found it online....

We invested in the Nikon D40. I think it was about $450. It is a digital SLR, which means you can shoot manually and change lenses. I love it. It's a heck of a lot more camera than my point and shoot but it has been fun trying to figure it out. Good luck shopping!!

Sorry Tanya..I was updating your blog and went to post a comment and forgot to log out. So that is why you have a deleted comment. DUH. Anyway, we use a Canon Powershot A630. My 2 sister in laws have the same exact camera--it wasn't planned! You can see it here: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=145&modelid=14108. When I bought mine, over a year ago now, it costs me around $275 with a case and memory card. I think you can get it much cheaper than that now at places like Walmart or Newegg (no sales tax at Newegg!). I like this camera because it works well for family photos. I like the swivel screen, the custom color option, and the many other options you have with this camera. I am not a photo pro by any means, but this camera works well. I have no complaints about it at all. Anyway, I hope you find one that fits your needs and budget!
